Content Guidelines

Yallla connects clients in Kuwait with creative talent for project work. These guidelines explain what you can and cannot post. They apply to everything you add: briefs, proposals, profiles, bios, usernames, photos, portfolio images and videos, links, and reports. They are part of our Terms of Service. We may edit or remove any content to keep it within these guidelines, our Terms and the law, or to improve the platform.

You must be 18 or older to use Yallla. You confirm this by agreeing to the Terms. You are responsible for following the law in Kuwait and wherever you do the work.

BRIEFS

  • Describe real project work you want done, with a clear scope.
  • Give an honest budget, or leave it blank if you do not know yet.
  • Post under your own name, or the name of a business you are allowed to act for.
  • One brief per project. Do not post the same brief again and again.
  • Avoid putting phone numbers or email addresses in a brief. Contact details are shared through their own fields after you accept a proposal. A link to Instagram or past work as a reference is fine. We may edit or remove contact details during review.
  • Do not use a brief to collect personal data, advertise, recruit for a scheme, or send people somewhere else.

Our team reviews briefs before they go live. Briefs from some clients we trust may go live without waiting for review, and we still review them afterwards. We may decline, edit or remove any brief that does not follow these guidelines, even after it is live. Anyone who can see a brief can report it.

PROPOSALS

  • Reply to what the brief asks for.
  • Be honest about your skills, your rate and when you can deliver.
  • Do not send copy-paste proposals to briefs that do not fit your work.
  • Put your contact details in the contact fields rather than the proposal text. We may edit or remove contact details from proposals.

PROFILES AND PORTFOLIOS

  • Use your real name or the name you work under.
  • Only show work you made, or had a real part in. Say what your part was if it was a team project.
  • Only upload images and link videos you own or have permission to share. This includes permission from clients and from people who appear in the work.
  • Keep your Instagram username and links accurate. They must be yours. We use your Instagram username only to check who you are, and never show it to other users.

Your public profile and portfolio can be seen by anyone. We may feature them on Yallla's social media accounts, and we always credit you by your name or username. See the Terms for details and how to opt out.

INVITE CODES

  • Give your code only to someone whose work you trust.
  • Do not sell, trade or publish codes, for example in comments, groups or posts.
  • Do not create accounts to collect extra codes.

CONTACT DETAILS YOU RECEIVE

  • Use them only to discuss and do the project.
  • Do not share them, add them to marketing lists, or contact people about unrelated things.
  • Stop contacting someone who asks you to stop.

WHAT YOU CANNOT POST

Spam and fake activity.

  • Repeated or near-identical briefs, proposals or profiles.
  • Fake accounts, or accounts made to get around a limit or a ban.
  • Content that exists only to send traffic somewhere else.

Scams, fraud and deception.

  • Fake briefs or proposals, pyramid or "guaranteed income" schemes, and phishing.
  • Lying about who you are, what you can deliver, or what a project involves.
  • Asking for deposits, fees or payment that are not part of an honest agreement for the work.
  • Anything meant to cheat another user.

Impersonation.

  • Posing as another person, business or brand you are not allowed to represent.
  • Using someone else's name, photo, work or contact details without their consent.

Obscene or indecent content.

  • Obscene, indecent or explicit content.

Hate, harassment and violence.

  • Attacking or demeaning people because of religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, disability or similar characteristics.
  • Threats, intimidation, sharing someone's private details, or targeted harassment.
  • Promoting or supporting violence or terrorism.

Illegal goods, services and activity.

  • Anything illegal in Kuwait or where the work would be done.
  • Drugs, weapons, counterfeit or stolen goods, and human trafficking.
  • Gambling services.
  • Hacking, account takeovers, malware, or buying fake followers, likes or reviews.

The Amir, the State, religion and politics.

To comply with Kuwait's Press and Publications Law and Cybercrime Law, Yallla does not allow any content that touches these subjects. This applies to briefs, proposals, profiles and portfolios, and to all creative and journalistic work, whatever its tone or intent:

  • the Amir;
  • state institutions;
  • regional geopolitics;
  • political campaigning or political advertising of any kind.

Religion: content that offends, mocks or disrespects any religion, or promotes religious or sectarian views, is not allowed. Seasonal and cultural work, such as Ramadan and Eid campaigns, is allowed.

Content that mocks or insults accepted local customs in Kuwait is also not allowed.

Services that need a licence.

  • Offering or asking for services that need a licence or permit you or the other side do not hold.

Intellectual property.

  • Work, images, music, footage, designs or text you do not own and do not have permission to use.
  • Offering work that would copy or infringe someone else's copyright or trademark.

Other people's personal data.

  • Posting another person's phone number, address, ID, photos or other private information without their clear consent.

Misuse of the Service.

  • Trying to get around posting limits, review, bans or anti-spam checks.
  • Using bots, scrapers or automated tools on Yallla.
  • Trying to access data or accounts you are not allowed to see.
  • Abusing reports, for example reporting a competitor to get them removed.

BADGES

Our team may give an account a badge. A blue badge means we have verified the account. A gold badge means we have confirmed the person or business behind it. Badges do not unlock features, and they do not guarantee the quality, honesty or legality of anyone's work.

REPORTING

If something breaks these guidelines, use Report on the brief or profile. Tell us what is wrong in the note if you can.

A person on our team reviews reports. When a brief or profile gets several reports, it can be hidden or marked as under review until we look at it. How fast we act depends on how serious the report is and how many reports we have.

If you are in danger, contact the police first.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU BREAK THESE GUIDELINES

Depending on how serious it is and your history, we may:

  • decline, edit or remove a brief or other content;
  • remove a badge;
  • limit your posting or proposals;
  • mark your account as under review, which others can see on your profile;
  • cancel your invite codes;
  • ban your account.

We keep evidence of serious breaches and may share it with the authorities where the law requires.

APPEALS

If you think we made the wrong decision, email support@yallla.club with the brief title or your username, and a short explanation. A person will review it and reply.
